Since it is still election day…

November 7th, 2006 by digerati

Living in DC has taught me to dread any upcoming election.  It’s not the usual reasons of no candidate having a combination of values and ideas anywhere near mine, or the fact that I think most people vote based entirely on a single issue (for alot of people this seems to be their bottom line…e.g. taxes).  No, it’s just that everyone in the city seems to have nothing else to talk about for weeks on end.

My Take on Electronic Voting

GW was very focused on the computer security aspects of electronic voting.  This seems to be in the news very frequently lately.  I’d like to say two things about electonic voting.  This is my official standpoint as a security student:

  • Electronic voting can work, the errors and holes are all in the bad software we use now.
  • In its current state my position on electronic voting is to vote early and often.
