The Easy Way to Make $4.4 Million

March 22nd, 2007 by digerati

I’ve been thinking about earning extra income lately. You know, not the kind of income that’s from your job, but side income gained from various sources. As such, I’ll be sharing several ideas over the next few months that we all can use to earn some extra income. We all could use a bit more money, couldn’t we? Interestingly enough, saving just $10,000 a year will get you an average income increase of $110,000 a year in the long run.  Not too shabby.
My goal is to earn an extra $10,000 this year. I got to thinking what the value of an extra $10,000 would be if I was able to earn it and put it away — year after year after year. If I could do it, and earn 10% (it’s a nice round number) here’s what I’d have over time:

  • 10 years — $159,374
  • 20 years — $572,750
  • 30 years — $1,644,940
  • 40 years — $4,425,926

Not bad, huh? And while $10,000 isn’t an easy amount of income to add, it’s not totally out there for most people. The harder part is always not spending the extra income on toys. :-)

Digg!
